First it is very important to understand the different qty types you can enter in BusinessMind.  Please review the article linked here before proceeding with the below info.

When entering melee qty you should choose MEASUREMENT from the Qty Type Drop down just above the quantity field of the receiving inventory screen. Now you can enter the measurement into the measurement qty field.
For example, If you need to enter a parcel of diamonds that totaled 4.82 carats. The quantity would be 4.82.

Next we need to enter the Total Cost.  This is the total cost of the melee you are entering.
Using our example above we paid 200 per carat for a TOTAL cost of $964.00 for the entire parcel.  This means we would enter the total cost of 964 into the Qty Total Cost field.  BusinessMind will automatically set the unit cost to 200 which is the cost per measurement or as per our example the cost per carat.

At this point you would set Price1 to the price you are selling by.  So if you sell per carat then enter the Price Per Carat in the Price1 field.
