Sets are a feature in BusinessMind which allow you to create a set of Skus or Models that you have chosen specifically. Unlike a smart set a Set does not have a complex search feature.  You can create a set from either the Model list view or the Sku list view.

You can print tags for SKU's in a set or even create a Product Grids from either the Sku or Model view.

This article will go over a quick and easy way of creating and populating a set.

Step 1: Creating a Set

To create a Set follow the below instructions.

  • Click on the Inventory link from the BusinessMind homepage.

  • Select All Skus or All Models depending on where you want to create the Set.

  • Click the Add link next to Sets.

  • Name your set and choose any columns you want to display. (NOTE:  The attachment column will display an image if the sku/model has one).  Leave the add skus area blank.

  • Click the Save Set button.  This will add your empty set to the Sets list.

Step 2: How to Populate a Set

Now that your set is created you can populate it.  This can be done in many ways.  Below we will go through a few different ways on how to populate a set.

A very easy way to populate a set is from a smart set. But sometimes a smart set will get you more items than you want in the set.  You can then quickly remove unwanted items from a set.  Here is the info on this process

  • Create(save) and run a smart set for items you may need.

  • From your smart set click the "Hamburger" icon located at the very left of your column header names.

  • This will display an option to Add your Smart Set results to Your set.  If you have multiple sets each will be listed here.  Click the option to add to the set you created.

  • This will display a notification next to the set that it is saving.  Wait for the save to complete which can vary in time depending on how many items you are adding to your set.

  • Once your set is saved you can click on your set to view the results.

  • From your set you can utilize the "hamburger" icons located next to the individual items to remove unwanted records from the set.

  • When you do this the set will automatically let you know it is saving.  Once saved it will refresh where you can further remove unwanted records. It is important to pause during this process and let it complete.

  • Repeat until your set is displaying as per your needs.

Another way to populate your set is from the Add area in your sets properties.  To utilize this method you must first create and save your empty set.  Once your empty set is created you can add items to the set via the Sku (if the set you created the set  in skus) or by Model (if the set you created the set in models)

  • Click on an empty set you created.

  • Click the Edit Set button to open the Set Editor.

  • From here you can populate the Add box with the items you want to add to the set.  These should be separated by carriage returns.  Click the Add button once your list is populated.

  • Wait for the process to complete.  When it is completed you will be at your set results and the set will be automatically saved.

  • From your set you can fine tune your results using the "hamburger" icon.

In addition to the two ways of populating a set noted above, you can also add items individually to a set. Below is information on how to this is done.

  • Create a set as per the information above.

  • Once your set is created you can click on the "hamburger" icon located next to any item and choose the add to set option to add it to your set.

  • This will display a notification next to the set that it is saving.  Wait for the save to complete.  The repeat to add more items.
